The Columbia Alumnae Chapter was excited to host its 1st Annual Bowling Bash Tournament to benefit its local philanthropy, Camp Wonder Hands on March 21, 2009. The bowling tournament was held at Anchor Lanes Bowling Alley in Irmo, South Carolina and we had almost 60 participants in attendance, including fellow Delta Zeta chapters, local businesses, family and friends! Each camper at Camp Wonder Hands attends on a scholarship, compiled completely from donations and through the determination of the Columbia Alumnae Chapter with this annual event, we will be able to help Camp Wonder Hands continue welcoming campers in and making a difference in the lives of children with hearing disabilities. Through our holiday Bentley Bear fundraiser in December and our first bowling tournament, the Columbia Alumnae Chapter was able to donate $1,850! Thank you to all of our sponsors and supporters who helped make this first event a true success! For more information on how you can help our second annual event in 2010, email Michelle Patterson, Vice President of Philanthropy, at micj47@sc.rr.com. We hope to see you next year! |

The Delta Zeta Palmetto Cup Challenge is a yearly competition between the new member pledge classes of the Beta Delta chapter at the University of South Carolina & the Pi Epsilon chapter at Clemson University! Each class competes to see who can raise the most money per sister for a particular philanthropy, which includes one company match per team. This year, the proceeds benefitted The Painted Turtle, a national philanthropy that Delta Zeta National Headquarters embraces. With the help of the Columbia Alumnae Chapter and the surrounding Columbia community, the Beta Delta chapter has been crowned champion each year since this competition began back in 2005 and has raised over $20,000! Fantastic work, ladies!!!
